Course Description

This workshop provides an introduction to the field of Project Management, focusing on its core concepts and best practices. While most employees are expected to be able to organize, coordinate, and manage project and tasks, project management as a distinct skill set is often overlooked and undertrained. During this highly interactive workshop, project management best practices are introduced and applied through exercises, scenarios and case studies. The course is designed as a practical workshop and learning by doing is a key component.  As such, class participants will be asked to work on sample projects and produce formal project deliverables within a specified time frame. After each exercise, a review will be conducted offering comments and suggestions for improvement.

  • Apply project management tools and techniques to managing real-world projects.

  • Discover and apply proven best practices for project stakeholder, scope, schedule, risk and communications management processes.

  • Learn practical management tips and ideas that can be applied in a team-based environment.
